It looks like Amazon/MGM is keeping to its word of making movies for everybody, and now we have I Play Rocky, which looks pretty great, I have to admit. The trailer already has almost 1 million views, that’s how much people want to see a movie like this, one that resonates broadly.

If you grew up when I did, you would know the Rocky voice. Everyone did it. Never had a movie seeped into culture as deeply as this one. And though I would spend years mocking Rocky because it beat All the President’s Men, Network and Taxi Driver, now I see it as a masterpiece compared to the crap they put out today where the audience is hardly ever considered and movies don’t seep into culture anymore.

Anyone could be sat down in front of Rocky and be swept up in the ultimate underdog story. The great thing about this is that the movie behind the movie was also an underdog story.

The Oscar voters, like everyone on the Left who works in Hollywood, are the snootiest elitists in the country and they will likely sneer at this movie, like they did when Sly was up for Supporting Actor but even more so now since Sly is besties with Trump and doesn’t suffer from TDS. Add to that, it’s directed by Peter Farrelly, ya know, Green Book? Remember the mass hysteria freak-out that nearly brought Hollywood to its knees (that would make a great movie, maybe in 30 years they’ll have the courage to make it).

Sly:  Anthony Ippolito
