A man who calls himself Edward claims he travelled 3,000 years into the future and returned with a photo of what he says is Los Angeles

In online footage, a man known only as Edward holds what he claims is a photograph showing Los Angeles entirely submerged under water in the future.

Our planet’s atmosphere is warming up, which is subsequently driving climate change.

As these increasing temperatures cause polar ice caps at both ends of the Earth to melt, sea levels are gradually rising.

Environmental campaigners fear that without curbs on fossil fuels and pollution, major cities across the world could suffer devastating flooding.

The self-proclaimed time traveller Edward claims he comes from the future and has first-hand knowledge proving this isn’t simply a warning but an unavoidable reality, reports the Daily Star.

Sounding like something plucked from a science fiction film, Edward bizarrely asserts he’s a time traveller from the year 5,000.

Speaking to Apex TV, a YouTube channel specialising in paranormal stories, he disclosed he took part in a secret time-travel experiment in 2004 and was sent 3,000 years into the future.

The man claims he was shocked upon arriving in the future.

He found he’d landed in LA – California’s showbusiness hub in the US – but it was underwater beneath a vast body of water.

The Daily Star reported Edward stated he’d been employed in an LA laboratory when he was supposedly asked to travel forward in time to take photographs. Throughout the footage, the individual’s face remains concealed and his voice digitally altered as he shares his account, supposedly to protect his identity.

He said: “I will tell you a story that will amaze you and you will be astonished.

“I appeared at a ‘place’. It was unbelievable.

“I was standing on a huge wooden platform. Not only me, houses, buildings, of course, all made from wood. And after, I realised it was the same city, Los Angeles, but underwater.”

In more remarkable claims, Edward also says he has talked with people living in Atlantis, the legendary tale of a sunken civilisation.

They told him the deluge had occurred due to climate change.

Time travel continues to be, despite conspiracy theories, an unverified accomplishment.

Many people have proclaimed themselves to be time travellers or circulated rumours regarding the whereabouts of missing people, yet nothing has ever been validated.

According to NASA, the type of time travel Edward alleges “only happens in books and movies”.

The American space agency stated: “Although humans can’t hop into a time machine and go back in time, we do know that clocks on aeroplanes and satellites travel at a different speed than those on Earth.

“We can’t use a time machine to travel hundreds of years into the past or future.

“That kind of time travel only happens in books and movies.

“But the maths of time travel does affect the things we use every day, for example, GPS satellites.”
